Explorations Competition
Start Date: Start anytime of the year after your Global Team is formed.
End Date: Complete your Explorations by April 30 or October 30.
Award Information: Your final written report will be judged and scored using a rubric which you will be provided. The winners will be announced June 1 (for April 30thsubmissions) or December 1 (for October 30th submissions). Top awards include sponsorships for further study, travel and money for college.
Student Activities
Explorations are one of the easiest ways to join Global Challenge students from around the world who share your enthusiasm for making friends, learning about climate change, and competing for prizes! In this competition path, your team works together on as many Explorations as you have time and interest to do. Your rewards are matched with your level of effort.
Here's what you'll be doing if you choose the Explorations competition:
- Build a team of four students from at least 2 countries and get to know your teammates, establish team working processes and be in regular communication with your team.
- Hold regular team meetings along with your mentor to make team decisions and delegate work.
- Decide which challenges you and your teammates want to work on...the more you do, the more chance you have of winning the competition.
- Review your teammate's work and provide constructive comments.
- Send finished challenges to your mentor for review.
- Submit finished challenges on time in your project work space.
- Challenge yourself, ask lots of questions and have fun!
