Build a Global Team that takes action to save energy and create value!

Through the community of Green Earth Corps (GEC), our objective is to mitigate up to 68% of the carbon emissions from the use of electricity in homes, businesses and communities by empowering educators and students to help consumers identify and address stand-by power loss and inefficient electric appliances.

In the Green Earth Corps, you become part of a global project to learn about energy efficiency and take local actions by using handheld monitoring deviced that collect data that contributes to the scientific understanding of home and small business energy use in your country. The database that you help build will be useful to many people! In addition, your team can make the GEC the basis of your own small business, in which your monetary rewards are really in your own hands. The Global Challenge will also reward you for your efforts!

You are in control of scheduling what you want to accomplish and when.

The basic idea for making progress on the GEC is for your team to tackle the plan outlined on the web site, submit each product to your eFolio and seek feedback on it from each other and your mentors, parents, and scientists. Even the staff and  Mentors of the Global Challenge can give you helpful feedback! Use the feedback plus your own self-assessment of your work (using the GEC Rubric) to make steady improvements in your work until submitting the final GEC team report.
