We are extremely proud to present the winners of the 2006-2007 Global Challenge. Ten top teams were selected for individual awards ranging from $50 to over $3000 including international travel, tuition at the Governor’s Institute on Engineering at the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences University of Vermont, and cash awards for college funds.

Four categories of special recognition accompanied the “Top Ten Seminfinalist” status: Best Business Plan, Best STEM Explorations, Diversity Award and Best Overall Score.

The Best Business Plan awards were determined by seven judges' scores based in both a detailed rubric and overall judgments of quality and completeness. Best STEM Explorations awards were based on the number and quality of science, technology, engineering and mathematics team explorations completed. Diversity Award was based on gender and international team make-up of the finishing team. Best Overall Score combined all scores plus the submission of a “Patent Application” to the program web site in January.
