TIP/GBP Challenges

This page contains team challenges that help you build the various sections of your Technical Innovation Plan (TIP) or Global Business Plan (GBP), and earn Points & Prizes at the same time! Your team can undertake any part of the Technical Innovation Plan or Global Business Plan at any time during the year. If you would like more structure, we suggest a sequence of challenges in the Yearly Calendar, but you are in control of scheduling what you want to accomplish and when.

The basic idea is for your team to tackle a part of either plan, then submit that section to your eFolio and have your STEM Mentor give you feedback on it. Use the feedback plus your own self-assessment of your work (using the TIP Rubric and BP Rubric) to make steady improvements in the plan until submitting your draft on April 1 for a final round of feedback prior to judging for Scholarship Awards. Your team must submit its final Technical Innovation Plan or Global Business Plan on April 30 for judging.

We recommend Finding Models from Past Years as a good place to see what judges thought about previous solutions. Global Business Plans are the only ones available from past years, since the Technical Innovation Plan is a new program option in 2007-2008.
